Does anyone know, if there are any seats for two persons available, perhaps from a 3rd-party manufacturer, for a 1976 AV40?

Yes.check out the website born 2 brom. They have a duoseat for sale.dont know if its plug and play.maybe u need to make an alernative bracket.

I believe forum member OlivierAV50 has this buddy sit on his AV50. From what I can member seeing it, it's almost plug and play, but not quite as long as I expected it to be. You'll be able to sit on it with two persons, but only as long as you're both under 1.80 meters I guess. I'll try to find a picture of it.
